This used to be my favourite. Not anymore. Still interesting though.

Untitled #94, 1981.
I like this one. I'm not sure why, but I think its because of the simple clothes. I could almost invision her pulling out a beretta and turning out to be in some kind of secret service/military type group... I've watched WAY too many 007 movies...

Camera obscura questions

  • What did you see while you were inside the camera obscura? I can see moveing car and also i can see buildings.

  • How is the camera obscura similar to the inside of a camera?

How is it different?

The hole reflects light on to a screen so you can see the outside image. The pin hole is the same as the aperture and also you can not take pictures and you can take it with you

  • Why was the image upside- down? Because there was so much light trying to get in the pin whole that the light slowed down and turned the image upside down.

A sign when it becomes noticed, acts to signify meaning is it acts as a signifier.

Image i don't like

Bell made this remarkable painting in 1914. It was a moment of sharp radicalisation in British avant-garde circles suddenly familiar with Cubism, Futurism and, in the summer before the outbreak of the First World War, the founding of Vorticism with its emphasis on abstraction. Although abstract composition was rare in her output, this demonstrates Bell’s participation in these developments. Her daring command of colour harmonies and simple structures reflect the theory of ‘Significant Form’ promoted by her husband Clive Bell. Paste fromhttp://www.tate.org.uk/modern/explore/work.do?id=907&action=1
I did not like this image because it did not have a lot of colours and it looks boring.

The Image i like

Goncharova met her partner, the artist Michel Larionov, in 1900. This painting can be seen as a coded commentary on their life together. The two sides of the work are divided between male (shirts, collars and cuffs) and female (lace, blouses, aprons) items of laundry. The Russian inscriptions suggest a commercial launderette sign: 'Prache' is part of the word for 'laundry', 'b.s.' an abbreviation for 'white wash', and 'BOT' possibly part of the word 'rabota' meaning 'work'. The iron bears a monogram with the artist's initials ''NG''. Pasted form http://www.tate.org.uk/modern/explore/work.do?id=5399&action=1

I like this image because its looks good and it has lots of colour to its and i also like the type font.
